Aim and Scope

The Interdisciplinary Journal of Humanities, Media, and Political Science (IJHMPS) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal that publishes high-quality, innovative research at the intersection of the humanities, media studies, and political science.

The journal welcomes submissions exploring complex relationships and interactions between these diverse disciplines. We are particularly interested in work that takes an interdisciplinary approach to understanding the role of media, communication, and cultural production in shaping political discourses, processes, and institutions.

Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Media representations of political and social issues
  • The influence of new media technologies on political participation and activism
  • Relationships between cultural/artistic expression and political movements
  • Intersections of Gender, race, class, and other identities in Media and Politics
  • The politics of memory, heritage, and public history
  • Theoretical and Methodological approaches to Studying media-politics dynamics
  • Comparative analyses of media systems and their political implications
  • The role of rhetoric, narrative, and visual culture in political communication

IJHMPS aims to bridge the gap between the humanities, media studies, and political science, providing a platform for scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to engage in timely and impactful dialogue. We encourage submissions that challenge disciplinary boundaries, offer innovative perspectives, and advance our understanding of the intricate connections between media, culture, and the political sphere.
