In these turbulent times, every nation is grappling with its unique set of challenges—be they wars, natural disasters, or the societal fractures caused by terrorism, injustice, or pandemics like COVID-19. However, it is crucial that we do not succumb to despair. Through active and effective learning, leading to well-planned actions, we have the opportunity to unite and foster tolerance among us. Our focus must shift from merely teaching to deeply engaging with learning at all levels—individual, group, corporate, community, and governmental. It is imperative to revise our educational systems and curricula to emphasize learning over teaching (Garad & Gold, 2021).
Learning has evolved into a critical process, essential not only for personal growth but also as a strategic and operational necessity in the workplace. Extant literature and practices underscore learning as a survival skill. I am convinced that continuous learning is potentially the only sustainable competitive advantage an organisation can have.
This journal is dedicated to examining the processes of organisational learning and exploring how individual learning contributes to these dynamics. We aim to define and structure meaningful ways in which learning at the individual, group, and team levels can evolve into organizational learning. This initiative is a clarion call to researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and all who are passionate about learning. We believe that learning is fundamental and should strategically drive all our actions, transforming us into individuals, organisations, governments, and societies that are driven by learning.
